Medicare

In spite of testimony by doctors, researchers, advocates, and patients, on March 13, 2014, the Value-based Benefits Subcommittee decided NOT to add fibromyalgia to the list of conditions covered by the Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid).

Oregon, as the only state in the U.S. that excludes Medicaid coverage of fibromyalgia, will have doctors, researchers, patients and advocates asking the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to cover fibromyalgia diagnosis and treatments, in light of ongoing research and new ICD coding.

On October 10th, the Value-based Benefits Subcommittee met to consider adding fibromyalgia to the list of conditions covered by the Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid).

In Oregon, fibromyalgia is not a covered condition for patients with Medicaid (Oregon Health Plan). We have an opportunity on October 10th to change this.
